Baby Communication Week 2025: Born to Connect

by | Jun 25, 2025 | Events, News

We’re celebrating Baby Communication Week 2025 this week, 23rd – 27th June 2025, with the theme “Born to Connect” – recognising that babies come into the world already equipped with exceptional abilities to form meaningful relationships and communicate with us from day one.

Baby Communication Week is an inspiring annual campaign that highlights how babies communicate and engage with their caregivers right from birth. It’s all about giving babies a voice before they have words and helping parents, professionals and communities understand and respond to babies’ behavioural cues.

This Year’s Focus: Born to Connect

Babies aren’t just passive recipients of care – they’re active participants in relationships from the very beginning! This year’s theme celebrates:

  • Babies’ natural abilities to connect and communicate
  • The importance of noticing and responding to early interaction attempts
  • How meaningful connections support babies to not just survive, but truly thrive

Get Involved

Throughout the week, there will be free resources, webinars and events to help deepen your understanding of baby communication. Whether you’re a parent, carer or professional working with families, there are opportunities to learn more about this fascinating topic.

Special Free Webinar

Don’t miss the special Inform & Inspire webinar on Tuesday, 24th June at 11:30 AM featuring guest speaker Dr. Claudia Gold. The session, “Curiosity & Humility: Making Every Contact with Babies and Caregivers Count,” will explore how approaching interactions with babies and families from a place of curiosity can lead to deeper connections and more meaningful encounters.

This free lunchtime event is designed for professionals working with newborns and families, but all are welcome to join and be inspired.
